A great deal of attention is given to the ever changing flux of the industry and this results in frequent revisions to The Certified Lease Professionals’ Handbook. The most recent edition published in 2010 includes chapters on Agriculture and Insurance with expanded sections on Lease Pricing and Asset Management - Collections. The History, Classification and Tax and Accounting chapters have also been updated to reflect the pending changes in the FASB and IASB Exposure Draft. Whether you’re a college student, entry level leasing associate, or an old pro, this book is an invaluable resource. The Handbook may also be utilized as the cornerstone of a candidate’s study path toward achieving CLP designation.

The CLP Foundation is confident you will find the 4th Edition both practical and comprehensive and trust it will remain a valuable asset in your library.

Preparation for CLP examination varies depending upon the candidate’s needs but should include (1) familiarity with the Body of Knowledge and (2) familiarity with The Certified Lease Professionals' Handbook. However, you are not required to purchase the CLP Handbook, but doing so greatly enhances your ability to solve the problems and answer the questions on the exam.

In addition to passing the exam, the prospective CLP candidate requirements are as follows:

The candidate’s experience must consist of at least three years in the equipment leasing industry. In addition to the CLP Handbook, the Foundation offers a Mentor Program to assist with your studies. Optional Master Review Classes are conducted at industry conferences each year by various leasing and equipment finance industry associations as well as independent trainers.
