Instructions

  1. Complete this CLP Online Application.
  2. Be sure to read the CLP Standards of Conduct
  3. Print the PDF application which is generated when you click the 'View and Print Completed PDF Application' button.
  4. Sign the application and fax it to the CLP Foundation with your credit card information or mail it to the CLP Foundation office along with your check.

Eligibility

Leasing professionals with the following prerequisites may apply:

  1. A minimum three years of verifiable equipment leasing and financing experience.
  2. Acceptable character, ability and reputation.
  3. Pledge, in writing, to adhere to the CLP Standards of Professional Conduct.

Ethics / Standards

Have you ever been convicted of, or are you now under indictment for, a felony crime?
Have you or your firm ever been sanctioned by a leasing trade organization for conduct or business practices?
Are you or is your firm now the subject of any action before the Ethics or Standards Committee of any leasing trade organization?
Have you or your firm ever had a license to do business revoked, for cause, by a government entity, including licenses for real estate, insurance, securities, mortgage brokerage or the like?
Are you or is your firm now the subject of any investigation by a governmental agency that could result in the revocation of a license to do business?

The foundation’s phone number is 610-687-0213 or you may email our office and have an application faxed or emailed directly to you for completion. When the application has been found to be in order and the prerequisites have been verified, the applicant will be notified that he or she is eligible to sit for the exam. Following each of the Leasing Professionals Institutes the CLP exam will be given. The examination will also be offered immediately following the EAEL, NAELB and NEFA Annual Conferences. A CLP Mentor may also administer an examination on an individual basis.

Fees and Refunds

A non-refundable fee of $550 is payable with the filing of the application. Should an applicant be unsuccessful in the examination, a re-examination fee of $265 will be charged, provided the re-examination is taken within one year of the unsuccessful examination.
